“Give me sugar…in water.”

Remember that line? That big scary cockroach disguised as a human in the movie Men in Black sure did give me the willies, especially when all his fellow cockroaches came spilling out of the dumpster. Ew. The good news — we won’t have to deal with that guy again. The even better news — a third installment of Men in Black is set to be released in May of 2012.

Will Smith has just signed a contract to start production of the film. Rumor has it that most of the original cast and crew will be coming back for MIB III, as negotiations are in progress with Smith’s co-star, Tommy Lee Jones. According to the Christian Science Monitor, the movie will be executive produced by Steven Spielberg.

To me, it seems a little late to be releasing another sequel to the previous two. It was eight years ago that the last MIB came out. And if I remember correctly, it wasn’t received very well. Let’s hope the third romp with the aliens will really rock our solar system.

Oh, and did I mention it is going to be in 3D? This raises my expectations a little bit. When something goes 3D, I really want to see some great special effects..and of course, when aliens are involved, the creators of this film could really do some interesting stuff. I would like a close alien encounter, please.

I really don’t know what it is with this guy, but I keep coming back for more of Paul Reubens. Yes, I own Pee Wee’s Big Adventure, which has been one of my favorite movies since I was a little kid. Yes, I agree he’s been through some rough, perverted times, but he entertains me!

And good news for fans of the actor — he’s going to be part of the cast of a brand new Smurfs movie.

The film will be live action and Paul Reubens will be playing the character Jokey Smurf, a prankster among his fellow smurfs. Not only will the movie be live action, but it will also have some computer animated aspects to it. (Most movies do these days.) Nonetheless, it should make for an exciting, if not interesting, movie in theaters.

Yahoo! Movies reports that there is much more in store for Pee Wee this summer, but fans will have to wait and find out.

Sometimes, we need to forget about all our responsibilities in life and just follow our passion. This good advice comes from a sound mind in the Obama campaign — actor Kal Penn.

While Penn enjoyed his time serving as Obama’s associate director of public engagement in Washington, D.C., he musn’t have been getting nearly all he thought he would out of the job. It has been confirmed that he will be leaving the White House to begin work on a third ‘Harold and Kumar’ movie. You just can’t say no to a good stoner movie, eh?

According to Yahoo! News, Penn had given his future White House plans to Entertainment Weekly back in April 2009 — he said he was unsure about how long he would be working with the government. He also explained that he still wanted to remain active in Hollywood. At least he made sure not to burn his bridges.

The latest ‘Harold and Kumar’ flick will have a holiday theme and will most likely be released for Christmas 2010. There is some speculation about whether or not it will be in 3D. Shooting will begin in June.

It’s okay if you couldn’t cut it in the White House, Kal. We liked you better when you got stoned and made us laugh anyway.

No, not to Pamela Anderson, unfortunately.

Sacha Baron Cohen has finally tied the knot with his sweetheart Isla Fisher. The two have been together for quite some time now — about 10 years — and, apparently, things are going well for them.

As reported on Indyposted.com, they got hitched in a very secretive, small ceremony in Paris. It better have been worth it for Fisher. She spent the better part of three years converting to Judaism so that she would gain the approval of Cohen’s parents. How traditional…and sweet.

Of course, Cohen has been in movies like Borat, Ali G Indahouse, and the latest screen gem, Bruno. (That last part was sarcasm, if you didn’t pick up on it.) You might know Fisher from movies like Confessions of a Shopaholic and Wedding Crashers.

It’s hard for me to picture these two together, but you know what they say…opposites attract. The fact that they’ve been together so long says worlds about their strong relationship. Congrats!

Have you been to or driven by a Blockbuster video store lately? I don’t know about you, but I’ve been noticing the ‘SALE’ or ‘DVDS AS LOW AS $2.99’ signs in the windows. Perhaps online movie renting services are finally catching up with them?

As a matter of fact, the movie superstore is actually thinking about filing for bankruptcy. According to USA Today, Blockbuster ended 2009 with nearly $1 billion in debt. That’s quite a bit of debt, guys. On April 1 of this year, the company will have to make an interest payment, but who knows if that will happen.

With the rise of movie rental sites on the internet, like Netflix and Redbox, it’s no big surprise that Blockbuster is having some problems keeping up. A main issue they face is their pricing policies. To rent one video from a Blockbuster store costs the consumer nearly $5, while a one month subscription with an unlimited amount of DVD rentals from Netflix starts at $8.99.

Also, internet movie rental sites have become so popular that many post offices now have separate mail drop boxes to accommodate just the DVDs coming and going by mail. Even though Blockbuster also offers these services, it may be too late for them to catch up.

The digital age is upon us, and if you can’t find a way to make a successful business venture in it, you’re out of the ballgame. As far as renting movies goes, check out this smartmoney.com article about the best movie rental options.

We all know who Mike Tyson is…he’s a boxing champion, an undisputed heavyweight, a crazed lunatic (for biting off Evander Holyfield’s earlobe), and has even done a few minor roles in movies. The latest, of course, was his part in The Hangover, as himself.

Now, Tyson is doing something that seems a little out of his league. He has just signed up to work on a new reality tv show on Animal Planet. I know what you’re thinking…how does Mike Tyson get on Animal Planet? Pigeons, that’s how. The New York Post reported that the champ owns a few hundred birds at various lofts in Brooklyn and New Jersey.

The show, called Taking on Tyson, will focus on Tyson’s love of his pigeons. He claims he has been caring for birds since age 11. He provided shelter and food for many birds around his childhood home in Brownsville. This is the first time he will race the pigeons, and has even called in an expert to train them.

Pigeon racing is a widely occuring sport, in which the birds sometimes race up to 500 miles in one race, putting them at risk for medical and emotional issues. Because of this fact, it is also widely disliked, especially by animal activist groups. PETA and Audubon Magazine have already jumped on the bandwagon to have this sport stopped.

However, Tyson is especially excited about this latest endeavour, which will begin shooting in Brooklyn later next month. If you happen to be in the area, make sure you take special care of the way you treat the pigeons. “I never hurt anybody until somebody hurt one of my birds,” Tyson says.

This Monday, Tim Burton, along with French actress Marion Cotillard, was awarded with a very high honor among the French entertainment industry. He was added to France’s cultural honor roll, which the director is very proud of.

During a ceremony in Paris, Burton was given a medallion and made an official officer in France’s National Order of Arts and Letters. This couldn’t come at a better time for the quirky movie afficionado. With his latest release of Alice in Wonderland, he’s got millions of fans eating out of his hands.

The Associated Press reported the following statements made by Burton about the high honor:

“From the beginning of my career, I always felt a very special place in my heart (for) France,” he told the crowd of journalists and fans. “Because whether or not you liked the movies, I always felt that the French were looking for the poetry, looking for the meaning, looking for the things I was trying to do.

“France has such a special place in my heart and I feel much more at home here than I do in my own country, and I always have,” he said, adding: “I thank you very much.”

That last comment has brought some controversy to people from the United States, but we’ll let that slide here. Come on, let the guy enjoy his honor!
