About

Welcome to A&E Groove, the blog site that focuses on interesting aspects of the entertainment world, ranging from food to books to movies.

My name is Kate Langenburg and I have been working in journalism for the past four years. I started taking professional writing classes during my early years of college, then joined the Stroud Courier, East Stroudsburg University’s student run newspaper. It was there that I started writing weekly articles, then became an assistant editor.

After working and training on layout programs and honing my writing skills, I took over the full time Arts and Entertainment editor position and enjoyed it for a year and half. It was the best experience I could have asked for, interviewing local performers, reviewing shows, writing news stories, and photographing anything and everything that could accompany a story.

Since then, I graduated with a degree in professional and media writing and a minor in photography. In May of 2009, I was awarded the Jim Barniak Journalism Award.

As of now, I am a freelance writer, working on articles for magazines in and around the Stroudsburg area. This blog is a little piece of my ‘side project work’ and I hope you find entertainment from reading its posts.

If you’d like to check out some of my other work, please check out the following links:

Helium.com (click on recent articles on the right side of the page for all stories)

Earplugs (an old blog I used to keep in college)

I’ve also done reviews for numerous bands around Pennsylvania and New York, including Who Knows, George Wesley, and the Greg Mayo Band. (You will find my reviews on each of their sites.)

And if you haven’t had enough, take a peek at my nature photography page.

Happy reading, Kate
