I’m going to let you in a little secret — I love LOST. I absolutely love it. That’s why I’m going through withdrawals right now. The next season won’t even start until January of 2010. Bummer.
But what’s this I’m hearing about a Lost movie? Rumors have been circulating all over the internet. When the last season ended, I was sure there was to be a movie, but Lost creators unleashed another season instead.
J.J. Abrams, one of the head honchos of Lost, announced that the show will definitely end in May 2010. But he hasn’t completely dismissed the rumors of a movie.
In an interview with MTV (posted on the MTV Movies Blog), he said, “The one thing that makes you think maybe there could be [a movie] is that ABC agreed to end the series after six years. Which is a gift, because you know you won’t have years seven and eight where you’re thinking ‘they should’ve ended at year six,’ and you know how to pace yourself so that you know how to end the series.”
Of course, creators of these kinds of suck-you-in shows never tell their secrets.
Now’s your chance to speak out. What are the odds you think a movie will come out of the Lost series? How will it end?
A Lost movie? I don’t know if I’m completely on board with that, although it if done correctly it could be awesome. Hey, I guess if X-Files can do it, then Lost can. I’m just a bit skeptical because Lost is truly a complete series experience and idk if it could ever be boiled down into a 2-hour film. But hey, with J.J. Abrams and crew, anything is possible.
How do I think it’s going to end? I keep reading the ending is going to be bittersweet… but what does that mean? More characters will die, that’s for sure. But how will it end? I don’t even have a theory. I just don’t know.
I agree that more characters will probably find their deaths in Lost’s ending. Hopefully, not too many. To kill off too many important roles in the show would be ludicrous.
